This time can be adjusted from the platform and, by default, is usually set to around 10 minutes. 1 ### The door opens The system records the first event of the exit sequence. 2 ### The door closes Voltic confirms that someone has crossed the room door. 3 ### No presence detected The configured time passes with no movement inside the room and the system assumes the guest has probably left. How Voltic works day to day --------------------------- The guest uses the room as usual while the system manages energy in the background. ### When the guest enters the room When the door is opened and closed, Voltic records that there has been an entry or an exit. From that moment, the system checks whether there is real presence inside the room. If it detects movement, it keeps the room active: lighting, HVAC and automations work according to the configuration defined by the hotel. The guest doesn't have to do anything different. Typically it: - Turns off the HVAC. - Turns off the lighting connected to the system. - Prevents the room from keeping consuming energy without real occupancy. The system combines information from the presence sensors with the door open and close events. That's why it doesn't treat a room someone just left the same as a room where the door hasn't been opened for hours. For example, if the guest is sleeping, there has been no recent exit sequence and the system doesn't automatically assume the room is empty just because there is little activity for a few minutes. After a configurable time, the system can turn off the HVAC in that room. By default, this time can be about 1 minute, although the hotel can adjust it as it sees fit. When the window is closed again, the system allows the HVAC to return to normal operation according to the configured mode. The guest can keep using the thermostat, but within the ranges defined by the hotel. This keeps comfort without letting the room run for hours in inefficient conditions.
